Visitors to family day out favourite, Odds Farm Park, will be delighted to meet a new litter of piglets!

Born to proud Mum Kate who came to the farm in May 2012 from another farm in Wokingham, the Gloucester Old Spot piglets are settling in well to life at Odds Farm Park and visitors on a day out can see them in the paddocks.

Families visiting on a day out will be interested to learn that in the Berkeley Vale (where the Gloucestershire Old Spots were traditionally raised) they were known as Orchard Pigs and were reared on windfall apples and whey. Local folklore claimed that the black spots on the pig were caused by falling apples.  Children on a day out will recognise a Gloucester Old Spot pig by its lop ears and black spots over the body.

Elsewhere at Odds Farm Park, people on a day out can expect more exciting activities – board Tractor and Trailer Rides (until October – weather permitting), race Go Karts and meet even more furry friends in the large Undercover Animal Barns.  Combined with a jam-packed Animal Activity and Demonstration Programme, there’s so much to do!   Plus, if it is raining on a summer day out, children will love to discover the Giant Indoor Playbarn where adults can relax with a delicious speciality coffee from the Espresso Bar!

Odds Farm Park is easily reached from Reading, Bracknell, Wokingham, Marlow, Ascot and Henley.  For more information, directions and prices visit the family days out website www.oddsfarm.co.uk
